Web Application Developer

As a Web Application Developer, you will: 

  • Work with a team of developers to build and support web application development. 
  • Test your own code and test the code of other developers during code reviews. 
  • Commit and manage your work via version control.
  • Collaborate with other developers/stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Provide solutions to customer/stakeholder questions and problems that arise. 

Requirements: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of modern web standards 
  • Experience working with React, Vue, Angular, or another component-based JavaScript framework 
  • Experience with Python or other languages like Ruby and C# 
  • Experience consuming and writing APIs using architectural styles like REST or GraphQL 
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases 

A few additional facts about this position: 

  • This role will be primarily focused on React and Python web application development on an in-development greenfield project.  You will be expected to learn to work in both JavaScript and Python.  We also use technologies like Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis and Git in local and cloud environments. 
  • This is primarily an in-house position. Remote work is an option after an initial probationary period.
  • Our office is currently socially distanced during COVID. 
  • OverNite Software is a family–friendly and family–run software company. 
  • Our offices are in Angleton, Texas, about 30-40 minutes south of Houston.
