Instructional Designer

Instructional Designer – The primary role of an OSI Instructional Designer is to identify and incorporate innovative instructional design strategies and adult learning methodologies to provide the best possible learning experience in computer-based training (eLearning) courses.

As a part of our Multimedia Services team, you will develop course content by visualizing and communicating graphics suggestions for course content, including interactions and learning activities, that complement the subject matter. Working closely with other Instructional Designers, Multimedia Designers, Technical Writers, subject matter experts, and customers is required. The Instructional Designer is also responsible for developing eLearning using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline as well as verifying audio files and making minor audio edits.

    • Excellent computer skills in the Windows and MS Office environment
    • Aptitude for learning/utilizing course-authoring tools and audio software

    • Willingness to use established departmental design standards

     

    Education, Certifications, Additional Skills

    A degree (preferably in Communications, Journalism, or English), technical training certificate, or work experience in instructional design is required.

    Additional desirable skills are experience in the petrochemical or process industry, basic HTML and page layout, and proficiency in languages other than English. Teaching experience is a plus.
